Sarah LaPham
Directeur
Sarah brings over 20 years of experience in advocacy, lobbying and communications to the role of the Director. She is also the mother to a young son with a rare disease. She bring extensive experience in international campaigning and advocacy rooted in advancing the rights of vulnerable and marginalised people in society, including in the field of sexual reproductive rights and health, as well as within the healthcare industry at large. Outside of advocacy, she enjoys cooking, playing sports and vintage clothes shopping.
Claudia Carter
Familietherapeut en groepsleider
Claudia's werk en aanpak wordt gedreven door haar passie voor het ondersteunen van ouders en het bevorderen van positieve communicatie. Sinds ze in 2017 vanuit Chili naar Nederland verhuisde, heeft ze een pad gevolgd op het gebied van onderwijs, neurodivergentie, mediation en kunstzinnige therapie. Ze heeft jarenlange ervaring in het één-op-één werken met kinderen met autisme en is gekwalificeerd als DIR Floortime Professional. Hierdoor leerde ze de cruciale rol van gezinsondersteuning kennen, waarbij ze het isolement en de uitdagingen waar ouders met kinderen met speciale behoeften vaak mee te maken hebben, herkende. Dit inspireerde haar om zich te kwalificeren als gezinsbegeleider en mediator. Centraal in zowel haar persoonlijke als professionele leven staat het belang van menselijke verbinding, relaties en de creatieve expressie van zichzelf in haar leven.
Tjarda Wessels

Growing up among children and adults with care needs, Tjarda Wessels developed an empathetic view of the world early on. These experiences from his childhood still form the core of his daily work; they taught him that every individual, regardless of the challenges, possesses unique qualities that deserve to be seen. For Tjarda, it is essential that everyone receives a full and equal place in our society.
He combines this personal mission with his expertise as a Creative Strategist in the commercial world of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. As a board member at A Different Story, he bridges the gap between these two worlds. Tjarda uses his knowledge of positioning and brand values to make vulnerability visible, thereby contributing to initiatives that add color to our society.
Tammy Mitchel

Tammy has spent more than 20 years supporting and advocating for individuals and families with developmental disabilities, work inspired by her younger brother Mikey, who has autism. Originally from Washington, USA, she began as a respite care provider during college before moving into nonprofit event planning and fundraising. She later focused on developing inclusive models of care for adults with disabilities in the United States. Now based in Amsterdam, Tammy runs Bloem Collective, a consulting practice, and is launching De Koekjesclub, a social enterprise creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the city with her family, chasing sunshine and baking for loved ones.
Ella Dollman

Ella is een gecertificeerde doula, sjamanistisch energiewerker en professioneel kindermeisje. Na meer dan 10 jaar gewerkt te hebben in wereldwijde mediafuncties, verliet ze de marketingwereld in 2017 om met kinderen en gezinnen te werken. Ze runde twee Montessori tweetalige kleuterscholen, werd een professionele nanny en werkte later als freelancer voor verschillende succesvolle kleine bedrijven gericht op het ondersteunen van ouders en kinderen in Europa. Ze is in 2023 gecertificeerd als doula en gebruikt sjamanistische principes en filosofieën uit de Andes om mensen te begeleiden naar authentieke relaties met zichzelf, de natuur en anderen. Ze houdt van lange reizen, rondzwerven op nieuwe plekken op aarde en alles ervaren wat de ziel in vuur en vlam zet.
