Journey of Hope

The Making of a Documentary

We found our voice through our first campaign where we worked with Same But Different, a UK social enterprise using visual art to break down rare illnesses and how we see difference in people.

Together we were part of the making of a documentary, called Journey of Hope. It is a short film offering a glimpse into the lives of families were children have received a rare genomic diagnosis. In a world where labels and diagnosis are often framed negatively, this film highlights the reality of both the search for a diagnosis and the impact of the diagnostic moment. Above all else, it compels us to think about the power of genetic diagnosis to reframe how we view our relationships, how we understand each other and most significantly, how a different kind of ‘hope’ is possible.

Our story from the film has now been featured in several places, including in The Guardian newspaper, the New Scientist magazine and to raise awareness on Rare Disease Day.
