Supporting refugees in Kenya

We are honored to have teamed up with Klabu, a local non-profit improving the life of refugees through sport, for our 2023 fundraising event – celebrating the life of our son who lives with a rare neurological disease. Through our efforts and that of our community, we reached our goal and raised over 5,000€ to help some of the most vulnerable young people with special needs in the world – refugees living at the Kalobeyei Settlement in Kenya, which is home to 40,000 refugees.

The money we raised contributed to the following:

  • A local team to be employed to manage the sports club for 1 year.
  • The purchase of new sports equipment for the club and community of young people, including: table tennis; footballs; social games; frisbees; jumping ropes; and, yoga mats.
  • A yearly supply of WIFI for the club.
  • The funding of 12 group yoga sessions.

A huge thank you to all the people and local businesses that helped make this donation possible. A powerful example of the impact small community efforts can make globally, as well as the importance of diversity and inclusion.
