Last Sunday was a day to remember for our Stronger Together project. We kicked off with an enthusiastic group of three participants. What united them was not only the same school, but also the unique specialties and limitations that each brings with them – and which we transform into strength together!

Autumn in the Forest: Searching for Beauty

Our day began with an invigorating autumn walk. The goal? To find the strongest and most beautiful leaves for a collaborative autumn collage. Along the way, we received a fantastic surprise: a local farm donated chestnuts, acorns, and walnuts! What a wonderful show of support for our initiative. After the walk, the children let their creativity run wild while making the collage.

 Healthy Energy and Smart Quotes

After all that hard work, it was time for a healthy lunch/snack. This was the perfect opportunity to talk about the importance of vitamins. One of the participants had a beautiful, poignant quote:

“Vitamins are good for your brain.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! With that thought in mind—good for the brain and teamwork—we continued with an exciting trust game. Winning Trust with a Ball and a Spoon

As part of “Stronger Together,” we played a variation on egg walking. The young people were given a ball on a spoon and had to complete a course blindfolded around two large tables. Here, they learned how essential it is to trust not only themselves, but also each other to achieve the goal. This game symbolized the core of our activity.

Working Together with One Hand on Your Back

We concluded the afternoon with a building challenge: building a tower. The twist? Everyone had to keep one hand on their back! This forced the participants to work fully together and discover how you can make each other stronger by complementing each other’s limitations.

 Closing: Dancing and Giving Space

We concluded the day in a special way: with dancing and expression. We practiced standing firmly like a tree: feet firmly planted, hands like branches. When one participant finished dancing, they gave the other the space to shine. This way, we learned not only to trust each other but also to give each other the safe space for personal expression and creativity.

A Peek for Future Parents

For all (future) parents wondering what exactly we do: this is a glimpse into our day. We believe in creating a safe, challenging, and loving environment where every child can grow and blossom at their own pace.

We conclude with the motto, because we have proven it beyond any doubt today:

“Living is learning and playing is growing.”
