Supporting Disabled Children in Ukraine

As our lives continue as normal, a war rages on in Ukraine. Since the conflict started on 24 February 2022, more than 3 million people have been displaced. Yet the most vulnerable people cannot flee. Children with disabilities cannot travel long distances and in difficult condition to escape bombs and troops.

To coincide with our son’s 9th birthday, we held a benefit and raised over 5,000€ for Bright Kids Charity, which went to support children at an orphange in Kirovograd Oblast in Ukraine, who were evacuated out of war zones. Some of these children are bed ridden, others are tube fed. They require an immense amount of care and resources to provide just the basics of what these special little humans need.

With a heavy heart in hearing these children’s unimaginable reality, we were left humbled and with so much gratitude to have helped in some small way to these children’s lives. A huge thank you to everyone who gave generously and without question to make this donation possible.

As part of this benefit and crowdfunding campaign, we made a short film of Iggy, capturing a glimpse of his life in our community.
